There’s something strange about unifying in life. It’s like we’re alone in the world, but really, we’re not. At least, I don’t think we are.
We’re all existing in the same moment in time, yet our reactions make us unique. We can all see the same sunset, but it’s how we watch it, who we share it with, and the way we interact with it that makes it different.
It’s the differences in how we were raised, the environments we live in, our cultures, our people—those are the only real, true differences between us.
There’s something about experiencing the same thing together that creates a sense of unity, the kind we all secretly crave. It’s in those moments of shared experience that we feel truly connected to each other and the world around us.
Maybe that’s why isolation feels so unbearable. At least, it does for me.
Unifying in Shared Experiences
Maybe that’s also why concerts feel so magical. There’s a unity there, a sense of connection. Is music a modern religion?
Is it the act of coming together, the shared experience, that makes it feel so spiritual? Maybe that’s what religion really is—the congregation, the connection—not necessarily the beliefs themselves. Or maybe it’s both. Without shared beliefs, would the unifying even be possible?
Everyone needs something greater than themselves to believe in. Something to trust, to make this journey feel less lonely.
For me, it’s the sky. The sunsets, the sunrises, the stars. There’s something about the vastness of it all that feels grounding and peaceful.
Finding Freedom in the Sky
Looking at the sky is my version of “touching grass.” It’s grounding to sit with the vast unknown of the universe, knowing I can’t control it. It just is—always changing, always present—and all I can do is sit back and watch.
That’s a kind of freedom I’ve never found anywhere else.
I’m grateful for the sky. Grateful that it’s always there, constant and close by, whenever life feels too controlled.
As always, don’t forget to share your revelations with me below ♡
Until next time,
Audrey
